Just like many other things I’ve done this year – I have really fallen in love with music again thanks to Spotify. Music has always been something I have noticed. Growing up I listened to what my parents listened to – those classics that pretty much play in every great movie, you know – good music. It wasn’t until my mom showed me “The Killers,” did I fall in love with newer music, and music all over again.

Music seems to go in waves for me, but since college it has become something I’m constantly paying attention to and trying to find new music. In fact it is a topic of conversation with several of my work colleagues, especially when I began this job. Music transcends – love that word, transcend – so many things, so many cultures, and is something you can inherently understand when you listen to it. The beats like your mother’s heart soothes you, and you find peace – at least I do.

I don’t follow music much, can’t always name the artist or the song title – but I’m obsessed. And Spotify has made it so easy for me to find as many songs as I want with their premium subscription. This year they did something amazing, not like Facebooks cheesy year-in-reviews that are popping up everywhere, but they are allowing you to see the music you listened to and how you played out your year. They also generate a playlist based on that year to move in 2015 in style.
