A little history for everyone…

Over 5 years ago, the name, Valhalla, came to my thought after a friend of mine in college lived on a street called Valhalla up Ogden Canyon. Here we used to hang out, make dinner, have friends over, and most importantly in college – study! One memory I remember was creating #WorkingOnSS, which was our friends code for tweets about working on Shane’s Shit, who was our professor who gave us a lot of work throughout the semester. While he was a “tough” professor as far as workload goes – I learned more in his classes than many others. We had a lot of fun times in that place, and I fell in love with the name and eventually knew I wanted to do something with it.

Fast-forward about 5 years, Valhalla Apparel was born as a class project for one of my business minor classes at Weber State University in Ogden, UT. The project was to create a company, a brand, and give explicit detail to where you wanted the company to go. The name comes from Norse Mythology and has the meaning of

“a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. Chosen by Odin, half of those who die in combat travel to Valhalla upon death, led by valkyries, while the other half go to the goddess Freyja‘s field Fólkvangr. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat known as Einherjar and various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during the events of Ragnarök.”

In this class – I created the logo, mark, and what could eventually be a retail store design with an entire document about programs, etc. While this initial launch is nothing like what I wrote in that document – I’m proud to begin down a path of something I’ve wanted to do for so long.

Fast-forward another 4 years, and I’ve begun the journey to begin selling shirts! The shirts are representative of #MyLifePossible and the tagline I launched in August of 2016, “Be You. Be Authentic.™” I want to continue the encouragement for people to be themselves, and to live long-fulfilling lives that matter to them and ultimately make them very happy!

The initial launch will primarily include branded hats, and “Be You. Be Authentic.™” men’s and women’s t-shirts with a few other accessories including an iPhone 7/7 Plus case, a pillow and soon to be mug and tank-top. From there I’d like to expand into more graphic t-shirts and LGBTQ Pride shirts that continue the encouragement of someone being themselves and showing off how proud they are to be just that.

This is just the beginning, and I couldn’t be more excited.

My name is Connor Harrison, this is my new brand, and this is #MyLifePossible.
